Week 50 - Transfers in Quarantine!

Well, my companion goes back to Temple Square tomorrow, so things are changing up! I will be staying here in Massena for a FIFTH transfer, and I'm going to be with a new companion, Sister Johnson! I will meet her tomorrow.

Other than that, not too much worth reporting has happened, we are still teaching a lot and are staying busy and the time is just flying! This is all pretty wild but I'm just grateful that we are led by a living prophet who has done so much preparation over the last couple years so we can be ready for this. And for all the technological advances that make it possible to continue our missionary work!

We are all getting really excited for conference this next weekend! It's a chance to listen to a living prophet and his apostles give counsel that is straight from the mouth of God for us today. And how amazing that it's to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the first vision! It's going to be unforgettable and I invite you all to listen and email me your favorite part :).

Have a great week and stay safe and healthy!

Love, Sister Potts

Here's where we spend most our time :)

And our kitchen backs right up to our work space.

Good luck & farewell, Sister Mayer!

FUN FACTS:

1. After the organizational meeting of the church, there were others who now wanted to be baptized!

2. Several more baptisms were performed (most likely) in nearby Seneca Lake, including that of Father and Mother Smith, and Martin Harris. Though there's a lot of controversy and different information about location and dates.

3. When Joseph saw his father come out of the water, he said, "Oh! my God I have lived to see my father baptized into the true church of Jesus Christ," and wept aloud for joy.

4. Some believe that the original six members were rebaptized, however none of them ever left left a written account mentioning that.

5. Over the next several weeks many more were baptized. Emma Smith was baptized several months later on June 28, 1830 near the Joseph Knight Farm in Colesville, NY. More on that later.....
