Just a workin' at the Nature Center (we volunteer here on a regular basis--note our cool name tags) |
Hello everyone! It's business as usual here in the New York Syracuse Mission. We are just being cautious about not touching people and washing our hands a lot. Also I guess it's normal that people don't want to meet with us, haha. Okay, I was trying to sound optimistic, but I'm sort of freaking out, but I trust in the Lord, too, haha. Pray for us!
The most exciting part of the week was we went tracting with a poster that said, "what are you grateful for?" It was a great ice breaker and we had some great conversations with some people and even found someone interested! We left feeling really fulfilled.
We are still teaching some great people who have baptismal dates but they are kind of far off and so we are just working to help them be willing to do it sooner.
Sorry it's not much this time but everyone stay safe and healthy! And spend this extra time studying the scriptures and serving and doing family history!
Love, Sister Potts

Got rubbing alcohol? Check! We had a hard time finding this--our whole mission uses this in little bottles that we mist all over ourselves every time we go back to the apartment. |
Got TP? Check!
Emergency food & medical supplies? almost Check
(still on the lookout for flour which we've had a hard time finding
anywhere--the shelves are pretty bare here, too).

FUN FACTS:
1. Several important events occurred during the organizational meeting of the church. One was the sustaining of Joseph Smith as the first elder of the church and Prophet, seer, and revelator (D&C 21).
2. Second was Oliver Cowdery as the second elder of the church.
3. The 6 baptized members were confirmed and given the Holy Ghost.
4. The sacrament was blessed and passed under proper priesthood authority for the first time in this dispensation.
5. Revelation found in D&C 20 and 21 were given to help govern and run the church.
